Christian Purslow reveals the decision of Jurgen Klopp on the Real Madrid

The German manager has been hotly touted to replace Zinedine Zidane, who resigned earlier this week. After winning the Champions League for a third time in a row, the Frenchman shocked the world and Real Madrid by walking away. And now Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is scrambling for a replacement, with Klopp among the front runners .But former Anfield chief Purslow reckons the ex-Dortmund coach will snub a chance to take over the Spanish giants.

“The key difference I think for the last five, 10, 15, 20 years, is the sheer amount of wealth in the Premier League means there’s no economic reason for those managers to move to Real Madrid,” Purslow said.

“It boils down to prestige, trophies and where they see the potential of their current situation.”There is no way I think Jurgen Klopp is going to be tempted to move given the season he’s just come off.”

However, Purslow isn’t so sure whether Pochettino could reject Real.

He added: “I’m less certain about Pochettino. I saw his comments today and he didn’t exactly dismiss it.”He’s got a long-term contract – well done Daniel Levy. It would cost Madrid a huge amount of money to sign Pochettino, to break that contract.”But I think if they offer Spurs £50m and he wanted to go, stranger things have happened in football.”
