Saudi Arabian referee banned by FIFA for corruption deal

Referee Fahad Al Mirdasi has been dropped by Fifa for Russia 2018 World Cup.

 The Saudi referee, was banned by the Saudi FA after he asked a bribe to ‘help’  Al-Hittihad win the King’s Cup final with Al-Faisaly.The referee is said to have asked for money from Al-Ittihad chief Hamad al-Senaei  through whatsapp.

He was one of 36 referees chosen by Fifa to work the 64 games at the World Cup.

Fifa confirmed in a statement that Al Mirdasi’s World Cup selection had been “withdrawn with immediate effect.”
