Athletic Bilbao have appointed Eduardo Berizzo as their new head coach. Berizzo joins Bilbao on a one-year deal and will remain with the club until June 2019.
He was fired by Sevilla n December after a run of poor results in La Liga. The Argentinian had only recently returned to work following an operation to treat prostate cancer.
Berizzo enjoyed a three-year spell in charge of the Galicians before he was appointed as Jorge Sampaoli’s replacement at Sevilla.However, he lasted no more than six months at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan before being sacked by the club.
