Chelsea don’t need Champions League football to sign the best players

Chelsea player Cesar Azpilicueta has claimed the club don’t need to be in the Champions League to attract big players.

He was speaking ahead of the transfer window, where the Blues are expected to make serious moves to improve their squad, after missing out on the top four last season.

He thinks that the top players will want to go to Chelsea, because they win trophies – and of course the last time they weren’t in the Champions League, they won the Premier League.

Several things appear to be factoring in when it comes to Chelsea and their players this summer.

At least one player, Willian, has made it clear he will leave the club if Antonio Conte stays, and Eden Hazard has also made it obvious he won’t be penning any new deal at Stamford Bridge until there’s proof the club are signing the players they need to not only get into the top four, but also to win the Champions League and Premier League as well.
