Forward Lukaku and Mourinho are in good terms

Forward Romelu Lukaku and Jose Mourinho have admitted that they are in good terms despite admitting that the pair had “a little chat” after the FA Cup final.

This comes after United succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea and after the game, Mourinho appeared to be critical of Lukaku by claiming that the Belgian international did not want to start the match at Wembley Stadium due to an ankle problem.

At a press conference, Lukaku said, “I didn’t look good in training at all. It was a difficult situation. Obviously me and the manager had a conversation, he’s the one that made the decision.

He further added”We had a conversation after the game, where we were both disappointed that we lost the game. I said to him, ‘I’m looking forward to next season’, to see the team that he is going to prepare for next year to hopefully challenge Manchester City.

“Everybody is thinking me and the manager has a big issue or something, but it’s not like that, me and the manager have a perfect relationship. We had a little chat after the game and everything is all clear.”

Lukaku is currently with the Belgium squad ahead of the World Cup, with coach Roberto Martinez saying that the frontman must prove his fitness ahead of the tournament in Russia.
