English Leagues to have a winter Break from 2019/20 season

The FA has announced that winter-breaks will be introduced from 2019/20 season, Chief Executive Martin Glenn has confirmed.

Most people have been pushing for a winter break claiming that it would help the England national team perform better in tournaments. The break will also help clubs counter fatigue.

All major European leagues have winter breaks and the FA plans on introducing one between the End of January and beginning of February.

Rather than see all 20 teams in the Premier League not playing at once, the proposed plan will lead to a 13-day break taking place.

This will see one half of the league be in action one weekend and the other half the following, ensuring all clubs get the same time off and live football can still be televised during the break.
