England intensifying penalties practice, Pickford

Jordan Pickford has revealed that England have stepped up their penalties practice ahead of the World Cup.

The Everton custodian is the favourite to start at goal for the Three Lions in Russia. Pickford gave some insight into the sheer amount of work being put into avoiding further shoot-out heartache.

England have lost six out of seven competitive tournament shoot-outs, with manager Gareth Southgate missing the vital spot-kick in that Euro 96 semi-final against Germany.

Pickford added that he has never taken a penalty but if required to do so at the World Cup, he will step up and take one
