Egypt star confident they can cope without Salah

Aston Villa defender and Egypt international Ahmed Elmohamady has admitted that they were shocked after Mohamed Salah picked an injury ahead of the World Cup preparations.
Salah was injured in the Champions League final against and he is doubt ahead of the World Cup opener against Uruguay. Elmohamady says they are eagerly waiting for the attacker to make a return but he is confident that they can cope if he fails to recover in time.
“We players wish Mohamed Salah a speedy recovery. The team were shocked when he was injured because of his importance,” Elmohamady told On Sport.

“We are waiting for his return, but in case of his absence, I am confident that his replacement will do well. Mohamed Salah’s importance to the team is indisputable and that’s why we hope he can make the Uruguay game. We are determined to achieve something special in the World Cup despite Salah’s injury,” he added.
