Manchester United set to reignite interest in Gareth Bale after Champions League heroics

MANCHESTER UNITED are set to reignite their interest in Gareth Bale following his Champions League heroics.

The Welshman came off the bench to win Europe’s biggest prize for Real Madrid against Liverpool – his fourth title in five years.

Gareth Bale’s post-match comments were at odds with the wild celebrations

But his comments after the game were his clearest warning yet to Zinedine Zidane that he could see his future elsewhere.

Bale, 28, said: “I need to be playing week in, week out, and that’s not happened this season.

“I had an injury five, six weeks into the season but I’ve been fit ever since.

“I have to sit down with my agent in the summer and discuss it.”

The Welshman has won the Champions League four times with Real

United have long-standing interest in Bale dating back to 2012 – before he joined Real Madrid.

And there were reports last month that claimed Man City could battle their neighbours for his signature.
