Everything Goes Wrong for Liverpool Against an Unforgiving Real Madrid Side

Two teams arrived at the Kiev Olympic Stadium Champions League final, outplaying and outscoring their opponents along the way. After 11 years Liverpool found themselves in a CL final. LFC manager Jurgen Klopp entered his 7th final in all competitions, winning 1 CL final with Borussia Dortmund in the process and losing the rest. On the other side, Real Madrid arrived to their 4th final in 5 years, having won 2 in a row (2016 and 2017). Zinedine Zidane entered his 3rd final with Madrid with a 100 percent win rate.

The match resembled a person who is prone to vomiting, is forced to ride on the roller-coaster and where at any given moment the person could release havoc. Anyone watching this game couldn’t afford to miss any action, nor believe the next series of events that occurred in the second half.

Real Madrid went on to win the Champions League final 3–1. Los Blancos goals came from a fortunate Karim Benzema in the minute, following 2 wonder goals from substitute Gareth Bale in the minute. Liverpool’s Sadio Mane gave some hope to the Reds in the minute. However, in a match where luck can go one way or the other, it did not favor Liverpool. Everything went astray for the Anfield outfit against an unforgiving Real Madrid side.
