Liverpool’s hopes of signing Nabil Fekir this summer have taken a blow after the Frenchman admitted he was having reservations about leaving Lyon. The 24-year-old, who has enjoyed a stellar campaign, appeared to bid a tearful farewell to the club he has played for since he was a schoolboy in their final home match against Nice.
Reports in France had suggested a move to Anfield was a mere formality, but now Fekir has distanced himself from the rumours and admits he is still weighing up his options.
Speaking to Telefoot on Sunday, he explained: ‘I’m not close to Liverpool. ‘There are talks with several clubs but I’m going to take time to think.’
