Manchester City’s Brazil World Cup stars make Jose Mourinho look stupid

A team without a Brazilian isn’t a team, but also a squad with three or four Brazilian athletes, depending on their profile, cannot make a great team too. Jose Mourinho may have been partly kidding, but the Manchester United manager’s words – not for the first time in the last ten years – have been made to look daft by Pep Guardiola and Manchester City

Not only do the Blues have four Brazilians in their squad, they have one in each department of the team – and hit the 100-point mark this season. In fact, by supplying World Cup favourites Brazil with Ederson, Danilo, Fernandinho and Gabriel Jesus, City have more players in their World Cup squad than any other club.

Indeed, to find a club that has supplied MORE players to Brazil, you have to go back to Italia 90, when Vasco Da Gama provided Bismarck, Acacio, Bebeto, Mazinho and Tita.
