Chelsea’s chances at Robert Lewandowski trending towards zero

One of the silliest of transfer rumours so far this summer emerged from a normally reliable source earlier this week, when the Telegraph’s Matt Law claimed that Chelsea were willing to spend “in excess of £100 million” on Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, who will turn 30 in August and still has three years left on his current contract.

Chelsea are not only facing some serious competition for Lewa from the much richer Paris Saint-German and Manchester United, but Bayern Munich are also not going to let him go willingly. Kicker rates any team’s chances of getting the goal machine at (or trending towards) a big fat zero.

The same goes for David Alaba, who’s reportedly a Barcelona target. Bayern simply will not let go of world-class players easily, if at all.
