John Terry is expected to renew his contract with the team  should they  secure a place in next season’s Premier League.

The Villans are expected to face Fulham in the Championship leagues playoff final on Saturday. According to  the former England international will consider extending his stay with them if they defeat the Whites and book a return to the top flight.

Villa are said to be readying a 12-month contract extension for Terry, but the 36-year-old is reportedly reluctant to turn out against his former club.

Manager Steve Bruce, however, is allegedly prepared to respect the player’s wishes and allow him to opt out of both league games against the Blues, should Villa end their two-year exile from the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Terry’s fellow Villa defender Alan Hutton is expected to enter contract talks with the club regardless of the outcome of the Fulham clash.
