Carlos Queiroz to quit as Iran coach after FIFA World Cup 2018

Carlos Queiroz won’t stay in charge of the Iran national group after the finish of the nation’s inclusion in the World Cup finals in Russia, the previous Real Madrid mentor told Reuters on Thursday. Queiroz, who has been accountable for Team Melli since April 2011, had been offered an augmentation to his agreement by the Iranian Football Federation until January’s Asian Cup finals in the United Arab Emirates.

In any case, the 65-year-old has chosen to call time on his seven-year spell with the Iranians after the World Cup, where they have been attracted to go up against Morocco, Spain and Portugal in Group B.

“It’s very nearly one year since we met all requirements for the World Cup and it’s valid that they gave me an offer to go for a half year to the Asian Cup in the Emirates, yet it didn’t live up to my desires,” Queiroz said by phone from his group’s preparation camp in Turkey. After so long, for the Iranian alliance to just expand the agreement for a half year is a choice that demonstrates no gratefulness or acknowledgment for what I’ve done. It’s an offer that isn’t satisfactory from my perspective.
