Bangaly Soumahoro, Mamelodi Sundowns defender, has lamented over the state of the pitch during their weekend away CAF Champions League match away in Guinea.

He however praised the team spirit that saw them snatch a point after giving away a late goal in the  group stage campaign thus far.

“It was a tough game but we are thankful that we at least got a point,” Soumahoro told Sundowns’ official website.

“It wasn’t an easy game. It was very difficult. But the team showed maturity to return with a point.

“It was easy for Horoya to play from the back because they were playing at home and they are used to playing on a pitch like that.

“But for us it was a little bit difficult. We take this point going into the break and we will work harder when we return so that we return stronger.”

The Brazilians also managed a 1-1 stalemate with reigning champions Wydad Casablanca in Tshwane a few weeks ago, and currently occupy third spot in the group, with AS Togo-Port the only side in the pool yet to register a point.
