Here’s why Morata, Fabregas left Out On Spain Squad for FIFA World Cup ?

Alvaro Morata has passed up a major opportunity for a place in Spain’s squad for the World Cup in Russia, with Cesc Fabregas, Marcos Alonso, Ander Herrera and Hector Bellerin likewise excluded by Julen Lopetegui.

Lopetegui named his 23-man squad for the competition on Monday, with four Premier League players included – David de Gea, Cesar Azpilicueta, Nacho Monreal and David Silva.

Be that as it may, there was no place for Chelsea striker Morata, with Isco, Marco Asensio, Lucas Vazquez, Rodrigo and Diego Costa favored in assault. Manchester United’s David de Gea was included as expected, along with fellow goalkeepers Pepe Reina and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta did make it in, as did Monreal. Dani Carvajal, Alvaro Odriozola, Gerard Pique, Sergio Ramos, Nacho and Jordi Alba complete Spain’s group of defenders.

“I’ve had several doubts, making a list of 23 is very difficult,” Lopetegui said. “But we have decided this was the most balanced decision and the one we think will help us most at the World Cup.”
