Thomas Muller was unquestionably Germany’s best player at the 2010 edition of the world cup. He scored five goals and had three assists. Therefore he took away the Golden Boot award at the tender age of 20.
Germany achieved a third-position finish as they narrowly lost to eventual champions Spain in the semi-finals. Muller was excellent throughout for the Die Mannschaft throughout the tournament.
His first goal was netted against Australia in the group stage. He scored two against England in the round of 16. The next one against Argentina in the quarter-final. And the next one against Uruguay in the third-place play-off. Muller definitely came of age in South Africa. He then went on to play an importantTh role in the 2014 title-winning campaign in Brazil.
