Tanzania giants Simba have been crowned Tanzania champions for the 2017/2018.
This, despite losing their unbeaten run over the weekend with a narrow 0-1 loss to Kagera Sugar in the last match of the season. The trophy was home for Simba even with three matches to spare but striker Edward Christopher could not leave the unwounded as he fired Kagera to victory.
The champions dominated the season, sitting at the top of the table for months, including a lone goal victory over eternal rivals, Young Africans, to cruise to the title.
Uganda born striker, Emmanuel Okwi was their star performance joining after a spell with Danish side, Sondersjke. The former SC Villa forward tops the scorer’s chart with 20 goals so far this season, six more than strike-partner John Bocco.
