Juventus goalkeeper expected to leave for Paris Saint – Germain

Gianluigi Buffon has been rumoured to be joining Paris Saint – Germain.

Juventus goalkeeper  has been with the club for 17years and will be leaving at the end of the season.

The 40-year-old is in  talks over joining the French Ligue 1 champions but has not been confirmed yet.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi  praised Buffon in a recent interview with French newspaper L’Equipe, but insisted Alphonse Areola would remain first choice under new boss Thomas Tuchel.

According to Al-Khelaifi: “We have Areola, he’s our No. 1. For sure (that will be the case next season).

He further added saying,”Buffon is a fantastic goalkeeper, he’s very charismatic and is a true gentleman. I’m sure all the clubs want him.”

Buffon who participated in the Saturday’s match received a guard of honour as he left the pitch,this was his last  of 656 appearances for the Old Lady, being substituted in the 63rd minute of Saturday’s 2-1 win over Hellas Verona.

There were tears among the fans who gave Buffon a standing ovation following his 17 years with the Serie A champions.
