Huesca promoted to La Liga for the first time

Huesca is the latest club to be promoted to La Liga. This happens to be their first time in history.

The team which was formed by Barcelona fans in 1910 only came second team from Aragon region to rise to the top most level of Spain’s top flight after Real Zaragoza.

The club – whose Estadio El Alcoraz ground holds 5,500 – beat Lugo 2-0 to go up from the Segunda Division with two games to spare.

The club is managed by former Barcelona assistant Rubi.They were in third division in 2014-15.

The town is about 170 miles to the west of Barcelona in north-eastern Spain.
