Fernando Torres has left his club for the second time.According to Torres ,the love for a club is worth more than any trophy a player can win.
Torres’ career ended over the weekend with his final match against Eibar being his final match for the team he has always adored.
In his statement,“I’m happy for the days I’ve enjoyed and if I could have written my ending at the club, it wouldn’t have been any better.”
He further added that, “It is nice to have retained the affection of so many people for so long and even if you are away, you can win a lot…
“But love isn’t a trophy or a tournament. It is a feeling and that’s what this club is all about.
“It is about how we feel: proud, happy, excited… anyone who feels it will know. It is so difficult to explain unless you’ve felt it yourself.”
Torres admitted that when he left for the first time, his wish was to come back to the club and it actually happened.
“It is clear that as a footballer, I won’t return and that’s the hardest part of everything.
“Not wearing this jersey and playing in front of these fans is tough and in the future, I don’t know what will happen.
“When you are so attached to a club though, there is a tendency that you will meet again.”
On the next move in his career, the Spain international confessed that he has yet to give serious thought to where he will end up.
“In the last few weeks, I’ve been able to focus only on Atletico and finishing the season thanks to big games like the final,” he revealed.
“From Monday, I’ll start to analyse my offers but I still haven’t decided on anything and don’t have a preference.”
