David Villa Leads New York City FC To Victory Over Colorado Rapids

David Villa scored a goal in both halves as New York City FC marched to a 4-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids and recorded their fifth consecutive home win. The Spanish player’s first came after a bad clearance from former Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard, with Yangel Herrera setting up Maxi Moralez, who found Villa for the opener after 22 minutes.

Ronald Matarrita made it two early in the second half at the Yankee Stadium, looping a header over Howard, while Moralez made it three 12 minutes after the break and Villa bookended the scoring with a shot which curled into the corner with 15 minutes to go.
