Former boss raises red flag on England squad

Former manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has warned that England’s squad to the 2018 World Cup could suffer from fatigue.

Eriksson led the Three Lions before but has always advocated for a  winter break during his five years in charge now says this could affect the performance of the team in Russia.

“I’m sure. I guess England managers before me and for sure after me always had the same problem. Thereare two big domestic cups, most England players play in Europe and the league is tough. That’s OK, but the big problem is not having a break.

“That’s the biggest reason why England struggle to make a big impact in big tournaments.” he told BBC.

In February,  there were indications tgattthe breaks would be introduced by 2020.
