Harmed Manuel Neuer was named in Germany’s broadened 27-man World Cup squad on Tuesday, however there was no place for Brazil 2014 victor Mario Goetze.
Neuer, Germany’s chief and goalkeeper, has not played since September and still needs to demonstrate his wellness at a fortnight-long preparing camp in northern Italy, which begins one week from now.
The 32-year-old Bayern Munich star is one of four goalkeepers named by head mentor Joachim Loew, who should cut four names when the last 23-man squad is submitted for the World Cup finals, which begin on June 14 in Russia.
