FIDA loses divorce court case!

Federation of Women Lawyers have lost a court battle to have marriage partners share wealth 50:50 basis upon divorce.

The High Court rejected the Federation’s application to declare the Matrimonial Properties Act unconstitutional.

According to Judge John Mativo, marriage parties are entitled to their individual contribution to family wealth upon divorce.

The federation lawyers want to be wanted the Act declared unconstitutional as it is biased.

Judge Mativo added saying, β€œThe bigger the contribution by a partner in a relationship, the bigger the entitlement upon divorce.”

He further argued that the FIDA request, if passed, would have created a loophole for fortune seekers to take advantage of marriage contract as they find the opportunity to reap from others.
