If you’re someone who often enough finds themselves in places where there is no cell service, you likely own a satellite phone. Thuraya Telecommunications Company has finally unveiled the world’s first satellite smartphone named Thuraya X5 at a media conference in Dubai.
Using the Thuraya X5-Touch, you can jump seamlessly between a satellite connection and a GSM connection.
Thuraya hopes that since the X5-Touch runs Android, developers will create apps catering specifically to the satellite phone market.
The Thuraya X5 runs on Android operating system and has 5.2” full HD Touchscreen .
