Kenyan authorities has received intelligence information that terror group Al-Shabaab has planned to launch attacks in the country. Therefore, people are asked to remain vigilant ahead of holy month of Ramadhan, which kicks off next week.
The terror groups like Al-Shabaab, ISIS and Al-Qaeda have urged members to be more active and launch attacks, confirms National Police Spokesman Charles Owino.
Al-Shabaab terror organization is based in Somalia and they have been carrying out small attacks in different parts of country. Although, police authorities believe the Al-Shabaad is now weakened and downgraded.
Security agencies have been directed to be on high alert and people are informed to be cautious.
“We are therefore urging members of the public to remain on high alert and be extra vigilant especially in populated public places including hotels, churches, bus stages and schools,” says Charles Owino.
