Oh No! It’s Going To Rain For Some More Days, Says Met Department

Kenya Meteorological Department director Peter Ambenje has said that rain will continue to hit most parts of the country until coming Monday. Lake Victoria Basin, Central Kenya highlands, Rift Valley highlands, including Nairobi, and the Coast will be the wettest. “The Coast is likely to receive heavy rainfall during the first half of the forecast period,” he said.

“Flooding is likely to continue during the first half of the forecast period, especially in low-lying and poorly drained areas that have been receiving heavy rainfall,” Ambenje said.

“Traffic disruptions are expected in urban areas during downpours.”

“May marks the cessation of the long rains for the northwestern, northeastern and southeastern parts,” Ambenje said last week.
