OMG! This drug can cure PTSD

Known more popularly as ecstasy, this euphoria-inducing drug appears to reduce Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in people in difficult jobs- firefighters, police officers, etc. according to researchers.

In a trial conducted in the United States, three different doses of the drug were tested on some service personnel who were going through trauma in their profession. Those on the two higher doses — 75 or 125 milligrammes — enjoyed greater relief of PTSD symptoms than those given the smallest dose of 30 mg, the research team claimed in the journal The Lancet Psychiatry. These professionals did not know what dose they were receiving.

The research suggests that this approach might help accelerate patient treatment by combining psychotherapy with a fast-acting drug “administered only a few times at monthly intervals,” said the team.

This however does not mean that people suffering from  mental health issues should resort to consuming ecstasy which is an illegal drug. The reason behind this also being that researchers feel it is still too early to tell if this is hundred percent foolproof as some people who went under the trial also reported some adverse symptoms.
