Paul Pogba thinks Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling’s brilliant form should be talked about more but claims he has been treated differently by the media.
Sterling was subjected to alleged racist abuse during a Premier League match at Chelsea in December and afterwards issued a statement accusing the media of fuelling racism in the way it reports certain stories about black players.
When asked he believes he or Sterling are treated differently because of the colour of their skin, Pogba replied to Sky: “Sometimes it happens.”
The England international has 19 goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season for City and his Manchester United rival thinks he deserves more praise.
“I think Raheem Sterling, with all the stats from last year and everything he’s done – nobody talks about it like we should,” Pogba said.
“He has ridiculous stats, he’s scored goals and made a hat-trick not long ago. He’s been top with City.
“What I’ve been seeing is he’s been criticised for houses and what I’ve been hearing things about, but nobody talks about what he’s been doing on the pitch.
“Maybe if he was somebody else, it would be different.”
