Money and Miracles: Are African Pastors trying too hard?

Are African pastors trying too hard to attract masses into their churches?

Well lately the men of God have been faulted for their stage managed miracles in the name of proving to the flock of God’s wonder working power.

In a video dated 2017, a pastor prayed for a man who apparently has a condition with his manhood. His manhood refused to come down until the prayers.

In the video, the man speaking as a ‘possessed being’ claimed that the demons would not allow him to be in a relationship or marry any woman.

After the prayer, the man is delivered off the evil spirit. People were however not impressed by the manner in which the man was left exposed in the altar of prayer yet they would have covered him.

Beyond the greed of money and miracles, people have opened their eyes to the controversy that is tangled up with the modern day churches.

Churches have now turned into business competition places on who can perform the greater miracles. Well not in all churches but I guess by now we have heard of the drama that happens in most of the churches.

In Kenya, a section has complained of the popular man of God Owour and claim that his followers have been brainwashed.

In another instance followers are forced to bow and even kneel down as the man of God makes an entrance in the church.

It only gets worse as some pastors perform miracles of resurrection. Despite Christians being believers of miracles, most have admitted to being able to discern the fake from the real.

The controversy deepens as the question of pastors living luxurious lifestyles yet their flock suffering in poverty continues to baffle many.

What can be done to end the controversy in the modern day churches?
