Bungoma Senator Hon. Moses Wetangula has for the first time publicly talked about his childhood experience.
The FORD Kenya leader had underprivileged childhood.
Wetangula recounted how his nonagenarian mother schooled him and his siblings through chang’aa and busaa sales.
He narrated that he stooped schooling in standard two and she dutifully checked their report cards to see what position they were,punished their poor performance.
He says that she is the person that he owes his massive success to. Now that she is at 90 he says she remains the icon of his life as he celebrates her this women’s day.
Busaa is a traditional fermented alcoholic drink. It can be distilled to produce chang’aa. The government has on several occasions conducted crackdowns on chang’aa dens and arrested brewers engaged in the illegal business.
Wetang’ula, or Weta as he is sometimes called, is 62 years old.
