Former Sports and Heritage Cabinet Secretary Rashid Achesa had been a lonely man before President Uhuru Kenyatta sacked him on Friday.
The month of February 2019 arguably proved Echesa’s lowest moment as cabinet sectaries had already isolated him saying he did not have a proper grasp of issues in the cabinet and in his ministry.
‘What discussion can you have with a class 7 dropout who does not understand anything’? One of the CSs was quoted as saying.
The CSs had earlier termed his appointment ‘unfortunate and a big shame’.
Mr Echesa had cut an image of a lonely man in an unfamiliar territory.
The executive order signed by the President read…“…committed to enhancing efficiency, transparency and accountability at all levels of Government through a governance structure and leadership that ensures rapid delivery of public services to Kenyans in every part of the Republic.”
He has been replaced by former Education CS Amina Mohammed.
Mr Achesa’s nomination was unveiled by President Uhuru Kenyatta when he announced changes in his administration on January 26, 2018.
