This is why you cannot register your car’s Number Plate now – NTSA

Are you planning to register your car’s for a number plate soon ?

You now have to start reconsidering your decision since the system wont allow you.

National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has halt all Vehicle registration processes since the past two weeks .

According to the Authority, the audit is aimed at eradicating fake number plates, an issue, members of the public have complained about for some time.

This happened  following January’s terrorist attack in DusitD2 hotel complex. A number of government agencies are involved in the clean up that s currently taking place.

The vehicle used by the terrorists during the attack had the same car number plates (KCN 340E) as another one found along Balozi road, Kitengela town.

The mission by NTSA has affected all players in the motor vehicle business including customers, dealers and banks.

Other services affected include issuance of driving licenses and renewal of road service licenses.

The suspects, Charles Wangocho, Stephen Kariuki, Nderitu Irving, Cosmas Ngeso, Jacqueline Githinji, Anthony Mjaka and Augustine Musembi were arrested following the discovery of a vehicle at Kitengela.

However, the officials were released after state counsel Duncan Ondimu said no evidence linking them to the attack was found.
