M-Pesa services were on Saturday evening disrupted countrywide.The unavailability was due to hitches affecting its database, the telecommunications firm said.In a response to customers via its Twitter page, the firm said the problem is being fixed.

Telecommunications company Safaricom has however restored its MPesa services after leaving millions of its customers stranded for hours on end.
In a late night notification, Safaricom informed its customers that the services were back up and running.
“We wish to notify all our customers and partners that all MPesa services are now back up. We deeply regret any convenience caused and thank you for your patience,” an 11.30 pm statement read.
