Kenya Hip Hop star Octopizzo has dismissed talks that he is interested in becoming a member of Parliament for Kibra. The “namba nane” native held a mega concert at Kamukunji grounds in Kibera alongside another Ghetto president from Uganda; Bobi Wine. Octopizzo and his friends were able to pull a big crowd despite the free Harambee Stars Vs. Ethiopia Match going on at Kasarani Stadium.
This cemented his status as the real Ghetto president with some fans calling on him to contest for the Kibra Parliamentary seat in the next elections. Octopizzo’s impact at Kibra has been strongly felt by the natives not only through his music but also through his foundation; Octopizzo Foundation that has various charity projects in the area.
“Staki kua MP Not all Leaders are politicians and all politicians aren’t Leaders, Artists should be the mouth piece or mirror of their communities & should always be aware of their social challenges, & am using my platforms to address & bring to attention the challenges,” posted Octopizzo on twitter.
