Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has backed Mohamed Salah to find his scoring boots again soon and insists his form isn’t as bad as some people think.
Salah finished last season as the Premier League’s top scorer with 32 goals and he finished the campaign with 46 goals in 54 matches in all competitions.
The Egypt international has begun this season with only two goals in six Premier League matches, however Klopp was quick to remind everyone he had a similar start last term.
“Of course everybody expects [same as last year],” Klopp told reporters. “We don’t.
“What did he get [in first six] last season? Three. And two in six this season?
“Wow, that’s a crisis!
“He needed time last year, like we all needed time. And he will take time this season as well.”
“On a defensive side, the last two games from Mo were outstanding. That says everything about him. It’s normal for an offensive player that there are times when you don’t score.
“He is in a good shape. Finishing is something you never can take for granted.”
