Gor fans share scintillating moments Peter Dawo left in their memories

Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia is one of the oldest clubs in Kenya. They have won the KPL 18 times, 5 more than their arch-rivals AFC Leopards.

To this far, K’Ogalo have gone through ups and downs. And as usual to them, Gor took their time on Thursday to remember their legends, who kept the club’s star shinning. The 2018-19 KPL champions dedicated this week to commemorate Peter Dawo.

Dawo was among Gor Mahia Players who helped the club lift its first and only African Cup Winners’ Cup title in 1987, scoring 10 goals in the competition. Consequently, he finished seventh in the voting for the 1987 African Footballer of the Year.

His dazzling moment during his stint at K’Ogalo left fans with a memory that has lasted to date. This was evidently shown on Thursday, in the famous “Throwback Thursday” hashtag, when fans shared scintillating moments Dawo left in their memories.

Peter Dawo joined Gor Mahia in 1987 from MTI. He then moved to the Egyptian League side Arab Contractors SC in 1990 before joining Omani side Al-Seeb a year later. Dawo returned to play for Gor Mahia in the remainder of the 1991 season, winning the domestic league. He would retire from playing after the season.
