Before Bomet Governor Dr. Joyce’s Laboso’s death, many Kenyans knew little about the man who stood by her wife’s condition throughout their marriage journey.
Dr. Edwin Abonyo who was married to Governor Laboso came to the public limelight after the death of her loved wife, moving the nation with his elegance and intellectual speeches that left many wanting to hear more from the little known Abonyo.
Despite emanating from Kisumu county and being a Luo, Abonyo impressed his Kalenjin in-laws so much that a section of Bomet residents online called for the wise Abonyo to be installed as the county’s governor in the future.
His nuggets of wisdom whenever he was invited to Eulogize his late wife also got the attention of Kisumu county residents who called on their son to arise the way and announce his bid for a top seat in his county of birth.
Many were impressed by the fact that Abonyo being a doctor and a contractor, he had not manipulated his wife who was the county boss to give him construction tenders in Bomet. Abonyo insisted that they were satisfied with the little they had as a family.
