These were some of the comments from concerned fans:
All our scars tell a story and they’re what make us. Betty’s neck scar isn’t a burn mark but a scar she got courtesy of a horrible accident at Nairobi Railways station.
About six months ago, the beauty revealed that she was run over by a matatu back in 2005 when she was in form three.

When I was in Form Three back in 2005, I was walking in town when I got hit by a matatu at Nairobi Railways Station. After getting hit, I went under and was trapped beneath the moving vehicle.”
The whole of the left part of my face got scrapped off as the matatu dragged me over the tarmac. The entire skin was skin was peeled off and was left looking white.
“I broke my jaw, four ribs and my lungs got totally deflated.
She stayed in the hospital for two months and underwent 7 surgeries. The whole ordeal broke her dreams of ever being an anchor as they didn’t hire presenters with scars. Look at her now though?! God’s miracle.
She said that her face completely healed and recovered but the damage done on her neck was too deep and severe hence was left with the scar as a reminder.
God truly loves our Betty! A true survivor!
