We hope you are still alive despite this biting cold and the rains that have dominated some parts of the country this Wednesday. One way to keep warm is to take meal because the digestion will generate some heat. The other way is of course to read some of the biggest stories making headlines on Opera News:
In our first story, we take you all the way to Meru County, where a billionaire Business Mogul was laid to rest on Tuesday. Only eight people attended the burial of Wilfred Murungi, the Chair of Mastermind Tobacco Kenya Limited. In Africa and specifically in Kenya, the richer you become, the more relatives you have. So we can assume that Mr. Murungi had so many relatives, but most of them were kept off from the ceremony.
Due to his immense wealth, many had expected a colourful send-off for a man who played in the league of British tobacco companies and almost conquered them. But they were disappointed. The ceremony lasted for less than one hour and no food was cooked.
What happened to the Dubai Gold Scandal?
The problem with Kenyans is that we are quick to move on very fast, but we hope you have not forgotten the infamous Dubai gold scandal that rocked the country a few weeks ago. A few flamboyant people including city businessman Jared Otieno were arrested in relation to the sh400 million scam. A certain Senator was also heavily mentioned.
But it seems you will not be hearing about the scandal any time soon because the case has stalled.
“Without a statement, it means that there is no complainant. That means there is no case,” said a DCI officer aware of the developments in the case.

On social media, there is a lot of conversation about Brian Bera, the JKUAT student who tried to break into State House armed with a knife, with an intention of killing President Uhuru Kenyatta.
