Detectives rescue 5-yr-old Cindy Kidnapped at Ongata Rongai

5-year old Cindy Wanjiru’s family is in relief after her rescue from kidnappers by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations Special Crimes Prevention Unit detectives.

Two kidnappers involved in the kidnap of Cindy at Ongata Rongai Helena Estate on 2/6/2019 were arrested at Ndambaki, Mwiki area. The Mitsubishi Lancer they used for the Kidnap has also been confiscated.

The suspects are 42-year-old Wambua Kenya and 24-year-old Yvonne Munyoki.

There has been an increase in the reports of children kidnap in the country.

On Thursday 23 May detectives rescued a seven-year-old boy who was kidnapped from his home in Loresho on Tuesday 21 May.

The boy was recused in a rental house in Kawangware where he was being held as the kidnappers demanded from Sh 3 million ransom for his release.

The two suspects, a 47-Year-Old Leah Muhonja Luyali woman and her 23-year-old daughter Charlotte Msimbi, were arrested and taken to lawful custody.

On May 28 it was also reported that a four-year-old girl abducted from Utawala in Nairobi was rescued after a week in the hands of kidnappers.

Detectives trailed the suspects in Machakos on a Tuesday where they were holding the girl while waiting for a Sh1 million ransom upon the lapse of their one-week deadline.

Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti said one of the suspects is a former Kenya Defence Forces soldier from Mtongwe while the other is a woman.

The girl, a pupil at Little Angeles School in Utawala was abducted by the two suspects while walking towards their residence at 5 pm on a Friday.
