Nzoia Thrashes Gor Mahia to save Ingwe from Embarrassing Guard of Honor

Kogalo lost to 1-0 Nzoia Sugar courtesy of Hansel Ochieng’s solitary goal bringing Gor Mahia’s 24 matches unbeaten run in the league to an end on Wednesday afternoon. Hassan Oktay’s last league loss was a 1-0 reverse on the 27th of January inflicted by KCB. With Tuysienge, Nicholas Kipkirui and captain Harun Shakava on the bench, Nzoia knew this was their best chance to get a win against the Champions elect and they took it with both hands.

Leopards will, therefore, will not be expected to mount a guard of honour for their bitter rivals who have dominated them in the past few seasons. and they will now have to win for them to retain the Kenya Premier League Title.

Teams that have done this before for Gor Mahia includes Western Stima and Ulinzi Stars.

Other rival teams usually refuse this tradition. Rangers of Scotland, for example, refused to give their arch rivals Celtic a guard of honour on Sunday.

.As of now GorMahia at the top of the table with  66  points with only 4 matches remaining. Sofapaka follows in second 10 points behind Kogalo,Whisch means if they had won against Nzoia, they would have won the title already.
