Gor Mahia is without a doubt heading to the direction of defending the Kenya Premier League after opening a wider gap between them and second-placed Sofapaka who are 10 points adrift the league leaders.
Out of the last five matches that the green Army ha played, they have won three and drawn once while their competitive contenders who are a distance away have won only two of their last five matches, lost one and drawing twice which show how Gor Mahia is lacking a quality competition in the title race for the season expected to end late in the month.
Gor Mahia has won against Sofapaka, Chemilil, and Ulinzi in their most recent five matches while still drawing against power men, Western Stim and KCB a match which was played in Machakos, Kenyatta Stadium.

The five remaining matches that the defending Champions await before the season come to an end does not in any way pose a major threat for them to retain the trophy which includes Nzoia Sugar, Vihiga United, AFC Leopards, Mathare United, and Posta Rangers.
The only threat in the remaining matches is FC Leopards whom they edged out in their first leg encounter and a repetition of the same could be expected with regard to the form of the two teams.
AFC has not had a good start of the season but has slowly come back to the match and record some staggering wins to get off the relegation zone.
The other threat could be posed by the slum boys who are currently seated at position five with 49Points which is too way to bring a formidable competition although they drew 1-1 in their first leg match early in January.
