AFC Leopards played to a goalless draw against Sony Sugar in a Kenyan Premier League clash staged at Green Stadium Awendo on Sunday afternoon.

Leopards came to this clash seeking to pick the first win in May having lost and drawn in the opening two. Sony, on the other hand, were on a four-match unbeaten run and were keen to keep the run going.

The early exchanges saw AFC Leopards test the Sony keeper Njau but he was alert. Sony at the other end tried their luck but Owade Ezekiel stopped attempts by Tobias Otieno and Robert Achema. Enock Agwanda also saw his effort taken by the keeper.

AFC Leopards then came close with Whyvonne Isuza chipping the ball but Njau was able to contain the goal-bound ball. Robinson Kamura freekick was also too weak to trouble Sony keeper.

In the closing half, both sides had their chances at goal could not get the back of the net. Vincent Oburu failed to complete a good move by Leopards which was launched by Brian Marita.

The hunt for goals would continue with Odeka failing to make his chance count. The final minutes for Leopards saw Isuza’s late effort cleared before it rolled into the net while Njau stopped a volley from Tsuma.

Leopards now have 39 points while Sony Sugar have 46 points.
