Ugandan authoritarian leader President Yoweri Museveni has donated an equivalent of KSh8 million to a church whose bishop recently prophesied his downfall.

Bishop John Lwanga of Orthodox Church reacting to a ruling by the Ugandan Supreme Court dismissing a petition challenging the presidential age limit, said Museveni’s NRM party would crumble for ‘disturbing’ Ugandans.

Lwanga also slammed Museveni for subjecting Ugandans to what he termed as misery, suppressing the rule of law and oppressing his opponents to ensure he remains in power.

“We are going to suffer human rights abuse until NRM is dissolved. And it (NRM) is going to dissolve very soon. I say this prophetically, it is not going to be there because it has disturbed this nation very much. It is going to dissolve,” Lwanga is quoted as saying during his Easter message.

After the Sunday church service, Museveni posted several photos on Twitter showing him enjoying good times with the ‘rebellious’ bishop.

“Today, I had the pleasure of joining Christians at Lubya Hill in Rubaga Division, Kampala to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Orthodox Christianity in Uganda. The celebration was led by His Eminence Metropolitan Jonah Lwanga,” Museveni tweeted.
