Missing through injury, Harry Kane was still keen to play his part at the Johan Cruyff Arena as he came from the stands at the interval.
Kieran Trippier has revealed what the striker did in the changing room to help pick his team mates up.
“Even with his presence, even here at half time he came in going mental at us,” he said.
“He said we could do better which we all knew but this is what we need, that leadership that he has.
“The way that he came in at half time and he wasn’t happy, he just gives us that extra lift because his presence is massive for us.”
Pochettino walked out of his press conference after the win when asked whether Kane will be fit for Tottenham at the Wanda Metropolitano on June 1.
“Harry is just exceptional for both club and country,” Trippier added.
“I don’t know the timescale with his injury but obviously we are all hoping he can be back.”
The 25-year-old is optimistic that he can play a part in the biggest game in the club’s history.
“Rehab is going well,” said Kane.
“I started straight line running this week and I have to start training even harder to prove myself to the gaffer.”
Kane has just over three weeks to work himself back to full fitness, improving sharpness may prove difficult given that Tottenham’s league campaign ends on Sunday against Everton.
“I’m a fan first and foremost and I know how much it means to the club,” Kane added.
“It was a disappointing first half and we let them play. I went into the dressing room at half-time and we knew it [the performance] wasn’t good enough. We said we had 45 minutes to give everything.
“The lads dug deep and showed passion and that is all you can ask for. We had to wait to get the third in the last minute and we found a way. That’s what football is about and we have the final to come.”
