Economy is not able to increase housing allowances for politicians

Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has reiterated that the country can not grow wealth unless our security is assured.

He has stated that if the economy is not able to increase housing allowance for police officers then it is not able to increase housing allowances for MPs, Governors or even the President.

The governor added that Kenya needs to be a fair country country that takes care of all of us and not just leaders.

In a recent unbelievable declaration, Mutua poured out his willingness to get his salary reduced to match the economy so that we have more money going towards development.

Mutua today made the official handover of newly constructed senior police houses to the police at the Athi-River police station. The houses were constructed by the Machakos County Government.

“My heart has always been torn when I see the living conditions of some of our officers. I have endeavored as a citizen to build houses for police officer and have done so quietly in several places in Kenya,” Mutua has stated.

Mutua revealed that so far they have installed CCTV cameras, provided vehicles for policing and now partnering in buildings decent homes for their men and women in uniform.

He went on to acknowledge what the Governments of Mwai Kibaki and especially Uhuru Kenyatta have done to improve the welfare of our officers but said we have to admit the situation is still bad.
