Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa is still the talk of town following her actions at the Burial of Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr. William Kingi’s father, actions that have been described as backward and embarrasing.
A Video went viral showing Aisha Jumwa grabbing barring ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna from addressing mourners after Sifuna started talking about the policies and laws of the ODM Party.
An angry Aisha Jumwa openly told Sifuna to get another platform to address ODM issues and not the funeral since that was like a sign of disrespect to the Mijikenda Community.
While revisiting the matter yesterday, Aisha Jumwa explained that she barred Mr Sifuna from speaking about ODM matters because the people recognise Governor Kingi as the party’s chairman in Kilifi.
She noted he delivered 100 per cent votes to the party in the 2017 general election.
“During campaigns, did you see Sifuna around campaigning for ODM? Who is he now to come and talk about ODM and its regulations here? Locals only recognise Governor Kingi, who campaigned for the party.”
Governor Kingi was however not happy with Aisha Jumwa. He told the MP that she embarrased herself in the manner with which she acted due to bitterness.
Kingi then asked Aisha Jumwa to fing a suitable manner to solve her troubles with Opposition outfit ODM.
Well, based on Aisha’s reasons, was she right to bar Sifuna from addressing Mourners?
